The enthusiasm about nanotechnology rests upon the economic potential of new or optimised products as well as expected contributions for reducing the environmental footprint. However, concerns are being raised about the health and environmental risks of nanoparticles and some activist groups have indicated that they might target corporations developing products made of or releasing nanoparticles. This Roundtable permitted to discuss how nanotechnology would affect different kinds of businesses and what could be the ingredients for a responsible development and use of nanotechnology.
