Mattel Joins World Environment Center to Advance Corporate Sustainability Objectives

CSRwire) El Segundo, Calif. – Feb. 26, 2007 – Mattel, Inc., the world’s largest toymaker, today announced that it has joined the World Environment Center (WEC), a global non-profit, non-advocacy organization that is a leader in advancing corporate sustainability business practices.

Mattel implements ongoing initiatives to ensure that its products are manufactured under safe, fair and environmentally responsible conditions. Its participation in the WEC will address such issues as implementing sustainability practices throughout the company’s global supply chain.

“We believe our participation with the World Environment Center will further extend our ability to achieve sustained improvements in manufacturing and other key business processes by working with other global leaders,” said Jeff Denchfield, Mattel’s Senior Director of Global Sustainability. “The World Environment Center provides us with direct access to leading companies across a number of business sectors and the ability to enhance our partnerships and dialogue with key stakeholders, including government agencies.”
