The World Environment Center Appoints New Director for Corporate Programs

WEC's new Director for Corporate Programs

Dear IEF Delegates and Prospective Members,

The World Environment Center is pleased to announce the appointment of Deirdre Wilson as Director, Corporate Programs. Many of you already know and have worked with Deirdre, who for the past two years has served as liaison with The Auditing Roundtable in collaboration with the IEF on the WEC Corporate Social Responsibility verification protocol. She will be responsible for developing and managing the Center's corporate programs and our International Corporate Social Responsibility (ICSR) projects.

For 15 years, Deirdre Wilson has worked in industry, primarily as Corporate EH&S Manager for various business units of GE, Siemens and Alusuise-Lonza; all positions included a strong emphasis on auditing, product stewardship, and corporate reporting.

Since 1993 she's been actively involved in CMA's Responsible Care Program, the US TAG to TC207, ISO 14001 (Environmental Performance Evaluation) and associated Legal Issues Forum. She attended SUNY New Paltz for both her BA and MA in Anthropology & Geology and received the Arethusia Graduate Thesis Award.

Our new management team is looking forward to working with you. Many of you will have an opportunity to see Deirdre at the New York Forum on Sustainability, "On the Road to Johannesburg" on April 22-23, 2002 at the Millennium UN Plaza Hotel at E44th and First Avenue (Monday evening) and the Inter-Continental "The Barclay" Hotel at E48th and Lexington Avenue (Tuesday morning).
