Implementing Solutions for Sustainable Development

Through our partnership programs, WEC leads projects in collaboration with businesses, governments, academia, and NGOs to advance global efforts in sustainable development.

We provide technical support, educational leadership, project management to help our partners achieve concrete business outcomes that drive sustainable development.

LA RED de Innovación e Impacto

The U.S. Department of State funded WEC and its partners, Le Groupe-conseil baastel ltéeContext Partners, and EarthShift Global, to select and support organizations who are accelerating business development and promoting sustainable economic growth in Latin America.

The impacts from our LA RED de Innovación e Impacto Project now stretch across eleven countries: more than 300 micro, small and medium enterprises have benefited from technical assistance, 1,800 people have found new or better employment, and more than 4,400 farmers have improved their operations.

The La Red program via World Environment Center has ended. However the program continues to operate independently.

Promoting Sustainability Management In Latin America

The German Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation, and Nuclear Safety (BMUB)  funded the World Environment Center Europe (WEC Europe) and the Institute for Sustainability to disseminate best practices in corporate sustainability. The project’s goal was to collaborate with companies in Chile and Mexico, whose operations extend across Latin America, to discuss systematic sustainability management and the corresponding elements in existing frameworks. WEC partnered with two leading organizations, APLE in Chile and CESPEDES in Mexico, to provide their on-the-ground knowledge and support to achieve project objectives.

WEC and its partners released the full study results in March 2019. You can find more information here.
